The Unsleeping City Episode 13 & 14 Review

So we are getting pretty close to the endgame of Unsleeping City, but first, we must talk about the last two episodes. Brennan is testing all of us, and I can't wait to see him get beat up by the entire table in the finale. I'm kidding... mostly, but these episodes were kind of a slap in the face when it comes to character interactions and bringing the final plan to light.

First up on the chopping block is episode 13: Faeries and Feces. We got to see Misty's new form, which was kind of disappointing as it was just her but younger.

I wanted a whole new look, but you get what you get. Her name change was also a bit meh to me. Misty Moore rolls off the tong and has better stage presence than Rowan Berry, but that's probably just me. Also, I'm quickly getting tired of Pete's crush on Rowan, it's just cringy and stopped being funny after the first time it happened.

We got to see Kugrash interacting with David, which killed me. I understand where David was coming from, but him just hating Kug and calling him a rat was a bit harsh. Since it seems like the series is ending soon, I don't think we'll get a redemption concerning David and Kug's relationship, but I want one. Kug deserves nothing but happiness and love.

In lighter news, us figuring out that Lowell can use the identify spell by putting stuff up his butt is the wildest thing I've heard in a hot minute. Brennan is a straight philosopher who can talk about the meaning of existence and God, he can make us cry with character interactions, and he can make ridiculous stuff like that.

We'll move on to the next episode of the week, episode 14: Showdown at the Stock Exchange. This fight was one of the more frustrating ones in Dimension 20's history. The dice were totally against the players, and there were so many cool things that could have been done that got ruined by bad rolls.

Honestly, the most frightening part of this episode was Pete getting hit with an instakill spell. Even though he has been annoying with the whole Rowan thing, he's still one of my favorite characters. Luckily he got sent to Nod, and Kingston can revive him, but having your most reliable spell caster taken out within a single turn is still terrifying.

My beautiful boy Ricky cleaned shop this fight, though. He was the only useful one as Rowan, Sophia, and Kug were paralyzed most of the round, Pete got killed, and Kingston can't do much fighting. He just killed the enemies left and right and won the battle in 2 or 3 rounds. He is so powerful and is my favorite fighter after Sophia.

After this fight, we got the information for the final battle, New York, as we know it will end when the ball drops on New Year's Eve. According to what time it was at the end of the battle, our heroes only have 3 hours until the end of the world, and yet they have so much stuff to do still.

We didn't get the Fantasy High stream this week as there are still some difficulties. It is getting a bit annoying as we were supposed to get it in September; it just seems like they tried to rush this project and realized the still needed more time to get stuff done. Other than that, we got an announcement for the next series after the Unsleeping City, Tiny Heist. It has all the McElroys in it, so you know it's going to be chaotic.

That all for this blog, tune in to the next one for what seems to be the season finale!
