Fantasy High Live: Sophmore's Start

After many blogs about the Unsleeping City, we will now move on to the next Dimension 20 D&D series, Fantasy High. Of course, I will be talking about the second season of Fantasy High, which is streaming on TwitchTV every Wednesday. I will be talking about episode one today. These blog posts will be about single episodes instead of two episodes like my previous posts since they are twice as long as the Unsleeping City episodes. Anyway, let's jump right into it.

I'm going to be talking about each character individually as most of them got a new redesign to fit what had happened to them last season. Each character's picture is in the order I talk about them. I could not get a picture of Gorgug or Fig, sorry!

First up is my baby boy Riz. I have no idea why I love him so much, he is just so small, though, and I appreciate him. His look really did not change much as he only got new weapons instead of a crazy change. Him getting his own Investigators office was so sweet, I missed Sklonda and Riz's interaction so much.

Fig was another character whose design did not change much. I think the only thing they changed was giving her the fishnet stocking that she got from the fight against the corn cuties. She was, of course, absolutely crazy and wild, and I expected nothing less from Emily Axford.

Gorgug's character design only changed a bit as they gave the white streak of hair he got from one of the battles, I can't remember which one. I missed this sweet bumbling ogre. It will be a bit sad that we won't get any more "Are you my dad?" moments, but as we saw with his interaction with Ragh, his perception has not improved in the slightest.

Kirsten has the next most significant change, as her tie-dye corn shirt is now a purple Yes? shirt. Her talking about swamp Venice and sour-dough bread was entertaining. I hope we get more cute moments with her and Tracker, as they are one of my favorite couples.

Next is Fabian Aramaris Seacaster himself. Fabian's new look shoes the eye that he lost, replaces his jeans with sweatpants, and gives him some busted looking shoes. He was honestly the highlight of this episode for me. Lou just decided to up the crazy on Fabian, which I am one-hundred percent okay with.

Lastly is Adaine, who is sporting the new look that she got back in season one, but they had never changed her character portrait. Adaine was okay this episode. I was never super big on her character, but hopefully, that will change later. I'm interested to see her interactions with Aylwen.

I, of course, need to talk about Gilear! I have missed this depressing wood elf so much. The minute I heard his voice and saw the light die from Brennan's eyes as he sunk into the deep yogurt filled depths that is Gilear's soul, I knew I was going to have a good time. Brennan going on a full tangent on how Gilear is being bullied by literally everyone in existence, was amusing.

As for the adventure that they will go on, I am excited. This whole nightmare king stuff seems to be really interesting. It might bring a darker, more mature streak to Fantasy High's bright happy-go-lucky theme they've had before. After the cliffhanger as well, I will be interested to see what happens next.
